Think of all those times when you wanted to go explore a particular area and was told it’s impossible, or that there were no resources to put together a trip like that.
It was only in the movies, they said. Exploration and luxury rarely go together. Its either one or the other. We don’t often imagine people who go on expeditions on uncharted islands or in the antarctic to enjoy luxury.
Well, lo and behold. The La Datcha’s Expedition Yacht 77 (77 metres) might be the answer to your prayers.
Built by Amels and Damen
Who can build a better luxury yacht than Amels and Damen? Interiors that can be on par with any 5-star luxurious hotel in Dubai, it literally is a floating resort. Equipped with an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, a sauna and steam bath, massage room and a fully equipped gym. You won’t even feel like you’re at sea because of the active stabilization system. And the best way to enjoy the views? Full height windows of the observation lounge and an upper-deck observation, of course.
A total number of 12 guests can enjoy the six suites, 2 of which are the VIP suites and 2 are master cabins. A crew of 25 is at your service, not to mention the professionally made gourmet food onboard.
Not Just Another Yacht
While most luxury yachts offer the mostly the same amenities, this ain’t your ordinary one. There’s a reason this is dubbed as an exploration yacht. This six-decked yacht can maintain autonomy at sea up to 40 days, without needing to refuel or restock. It has two helicopters, one submersible (3 passengers), one rescue boat, one dive support tender, one beach lander tender, four-wave runners, two expedition ribs, two snow scooters, a dive centre and a decompression chamber. Literally everything you’ll ever need to explore anywhere in the world.
And it really means anywhere in the world. It’s made to withstand the harshest environment with its ice-classed steel hull, thanks to Ice Class and IMO Polar Code engineering. This basically means you can do heliskiing in uncharted regions in the arctic or the antarctic! You name it, it can be done.
Go and Explore
An example of a route/destination they offer is for this September/October (2020), “An opportunity to spend your days off St Tropez between the islands facing Cannes or cruise further south and visit Positano, Sorrento and Amalfi together with the islands of Ponza and Capri after the summer holiday crowds have left. If you’re looking to cruise further East, you can enjoy the late summer sun in Greece with embarkation and disembarkation ports in either Sarande in Albania or Bodrum in Turkey.” And if you prefer the colder explorations, they also have that too.
We all have to thank Russian oligarch Oleg Tinkov, who is responsible for adding this exploration yacht to his Tinkoff Collection. We can only wonder what they’ll think of next.
