The Most Expensive Shoes

These are some of the most expensive shoes in the world.

Cinderella Slippers by Stuart Weitzman

In anticipation of the live-action Cinderella film starring Lily James, Disney asked nine designers to create their own unique version of Cinderella’s glass slipper. For his take on the iconic fairytale heel, American shoe designer Stuart Weitzman, created a pair of heels worth A$2.5 million. Made from Italian leather and platinum, the stiletto heels are adorned with 565 Kwiat diamonds and are designed to make the foot appear nakedly draped in diamonds and nothing else. The right slipper alone holds a five-carat amaretto diamond that is valued at over A$1.5 million dollars.

Ruby Slippers by Harry Winston

Jewellery designer, Harry Winston, created the dazzling Ruby Slippers in celebration of the Wizard of Oz’s 50th anniversary. Worth A$3.8 million, Harry Winston’s heels are actually worth more than the original ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in the 1939 film. To recreate the fantasy, Winston’s shoes are encrusted with over 4600 gemstones, 1350 carats of premium rubies and 50 carats of diamonds. Compared to the simple red sequins used on Garland’s slippers, it’s not hard to see the difference in value between the pairs.

High Heels by Debbie Wingham

Having already set records for the exorbitant prices of her cakes and dresses, British designer Debbie Wingham has released one of the most expensive pairs of heels in the world. Valued at A$19.1 million, the gingerbread house style heels were designed in a collaboration with Florida-based contemporary artist and craftsman, Chris Campbell. Encrusted with rare pink, blue and pointer diamonds, the stiletto heels also boast solid gold zippers and soles, 24-carat gold-painted leather and are even stitched with 18-carat gold thread.

Currently, on display at the Burj Al Arab, the heels can be ordered and produced in custom sizes.
