This Monthly Sneaker Subscription Promises to Keep Hyped Releases On Your Feet

Limited edition sneakers have become a must-have fashion item for the young style connoisseur, but with demand pushing resale values up, competition is at a feverish high.

From overnight campouts in front of stores to script-kiddies using bots to buy up supply, getting your hands on limited-edition releases has become increasingly hard, KYX World hopes to change this.

It has announced the world’s first subscription platform offering wide access to authentic, limited-edition sneakers and styles that have garnered worldwide hype.

With a try-before-you-buy and non-committal sneaker access model, KYX said it wants to “democratize access to rare sneakers with a new, more intelligent way to consume”.

Subscribers get the option to wear their fresh sneakers and then choose to keep them, buy them, or swap them out for a new pair next month.

KYX World’s portfolio of sneakers includes Air Jordan Off-White x 5 SP Sail, Air Jordan Union LA x 4 Retro Off Noir, Adidas Yeezy 700 V3 Clay Brown, among many more.

As drop culture has cultivated an exclusivity factor that has limited access for everyday consumers, KYX World co-founder and CEO, Brian Mupo, saw an opportunity to fill whitespace in the market.

“I believe KYX can and will become the platform where people from all walks of life go for their favourite sneakers,” he said.

“KYX serves as an authentic and inclusive representation of street and sneaker culture in a way the community does not currently reflect.”

At launch, KYX has over 275 styles ranging in price from $200 (A$261) to $2,000 ($2611) on the resale market and is stocked with an inclusive run of women’s and men’s adult sizing.

Subscriptions range from $49 (A$63) per month for one pair of shoes worth up to $300 (A$391) to $399 (A$520) per month for four pairs of shoes worth up to $2000 (A$2611). People may also pick between brand new and moderately worn sneakers for their subscriptions.

“You can always buy what you’ll know you’ll love, but now, with KYX, here’s a way to try out all the latest heat while saving space and money,” KYX Executive Creative Director and sneaker connoisseur, jeffstaple said.

“I’ve been a fan of sneakers for decades and have been fortunate enough to build my brand in this space. I’m excited to be part of the KYX team as we help define the next evolution of the culture.”
