BMW Garmisch

The BMW Garmisch was designed by one of Italy’s most influential car designers, Marcello Gandini. Built in Turin, the vehicle was initially designed as a surprise show car for the Geneva Motor Show in 1970. In 2019, the car was recreated with Gandini, now in his eighties. The design team retained the unique features of the car, including the interior vertical radio on the centre console and fold out passenger mirror.

BMW 2002

The BMW 2002 was created on accident, when car designer and BMW product planning director Alex Von Falkenhausen, installed a two litre M10 engine in the 1602 sedan. The 1950’s model found huge success in racing and was the precursor to the company’s 3-Series. The BMW 2002 was sold in two states of tune, with the base single-carburettor 2002 producing 101 hp, and the dual-carburettor high compression 2002 producing 119 hp. If you can get your hands on one of these, you’re guaranteed to have a collectable with a steadily rising value.

BMW-GLAS 3000 V8 Fastback

The BMW-Glas 3000 V8 Fastback was the first model built by BMW after acquiring German automaker, Glas. Designed by Italian designer, Pietro Frua, the car is known for its a distinctively sleek design that sets it apart from other models built by Glas and BMW. The BMW-Glas 3000 V8 Fastback was built in 1966 and despite being a new model at the time, the vehicle retained the iconic kidney-shaped grille.

BMW 507

This stunning BMW is often referred to as the brand’s most beautiful Grand Tourer. Favoured by celebrities, including Elvis Presley, the BMW 507 is now only found at elite auctions. The vehicle was designed by German designer Albrecht Goertz and only 252 units of the model were ever produced, making it an extremely rare and exclusive collectible. The car is powered by 3168 cc V8 engine with a maximum power output of 138 BHP.

BMW E30 M3

The BMW E30 M3 is regarded as being one of the greatest sports cars of the eighties. Designed by German car designer, Claus Luthe, the car was the second generation E Series model and was produced from March 1986 to June 1991. While the large majority of E30 M3s were produced in coupe form, there were a number of convertible cars also manufactured at the time. In 2007, Automobile Magazine named the E30 M3 as one of the 25 Greatest Cars of All Time, which may account for one 1988 BMW E30 M3 model recently selling for US$250,000 (AUD$322,655).

BMW M1

Designed by automobile designer, Giorgio Giugiaro, the BMW M1 is one of the most famous sports cars of the 1970’s and an important part of BMW racing history. The vehicle inspired it’s own race series when identical BMW M1 cars were raced as part of the European Formula 1 Races. The model has a power six-cylinder in-line engine and a distinctive wedge shape. Only 460 BMW M1’s were produced, making the model a rare and valuable addition to any BMW collection.

BMW E9 2800 CS

The BMW E9 2800 CS was the first model in the E9 coupes series. Designed by Wilhelm Hofmeister, the car was produced from 1968 to 1975, replacing the 2000 C and 2000 CS. The vehicle’s wheelbase and length was notably long to allow for the new straight-six engine. The model lead to the development of two more E9 coupes, with the series finding success in the European Touring Car Championship and the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft.
