Gateway Mining (GML) has intersected up to 14 g/t gold adjacent to the Achilles/Airport deposit at the Gidgee gold project in the Murchison region of WA.

A total of 19 aircore holes, for 1026 metres, were drilled around the boundaries of previously identified near-surface oxide gold mineralisation.

Drilling was successful with multiple shallow intercepts returned from outside of the mineral resource.

Results include four metres at 14 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 32 metres, four metres at 4.4 g/t gold from 44 metres and four metres at 1.8 g/t gold from 24 metres.

Gateway has secured a reverse circulation (RC) drill rig which will begin operations in the second week of June to target direct extensions of mineralisation at Montague-Boulder, Evermore and Achilles.

Further RC drilling will be undertaken pending the results from the recently completed program.

Additionally, preparations are underway for a significant aircore drilling program to begin in the September quarter to test several targets at Gidgee.

“The recently completed aircore program is continuing to deliver fantastic results and opens up exciting new areas at Gidgee,” Managing Director Mark Cossom said.

“We see clear potential to delineate additional shallow ounces at Achilles, with this area to be targeted as part of an extensional RC drill program set to begin shortly across the Gidgee project.”

“This next round of drilling, together with the results reported recently, will contribute to our next major resource upgrade during the second half of 2022.”

Gateway shares were up 9.09 per cent at 1.2 cents at 3:11 pm AEST.
