Gibb River Diamonds (GIB) has completed its phase eight drill program at the Edjudina Gold Project in Western Australia.

Starting in the first week of August, the company drilled a total of 42 aircore holes for 1486 metres to test several targets around the Neta and Gawler prospects, which were previously untouched.

Targets under transported cover were also assessed, which were generated from Gibb’s reconnaissance mapping work, conducted over the northern part of the Edjudina line of workings in June.

Re-interpretation of the geomorphology opened up new areas for exploration, with most areas of previously known mineralisation at Edjudina forming small, low islands of mineralisation in a ‘sea’ of aeolian sands and clays.

Concurrently with the recent mapping, Gibb River undertook rehabilitation of previous drilling.

The company said it will report the assay results from all drilling work as they become available.

Gibb River Diamonds shares climbed 16.4 per cent to end the day trading at 6.4 cents.
