West African gold explorer Golden Rim Resources (GMR) has begun a 2000-metre infill auger drilling program at its Kada gold project in Guinea.
Drilling will be completed at the Bereko and Bereko South prospects to understand the extent and trend of the auger gold anomalies.
Additionally, the drilling will aid in planning the follow-up reverse circulation (RC) drilling of the recently discovered zones of oxide gold mineralisation.
Golden Rim expects the drilling will take roughly one month to complete with results to be received by mid-July.
Golden Rim expects to receive assays shortly for the final 36 holes of its 57-hole RC drilling program at the Bereko, Bereko South, Sadan, Sadan South, Massan and Massan South prospects.
Additionally, the company’s induced polarisation and ground magnetics geophysical survey at Kada is progressing well and is on track to be completed this month.
Once received, the results will be used to plan further exploration, including follow-up drilling on the results received to date from Bereko and Bereko South.
“We have hit significant bedrock oxide gold in almost every RC hole targeting the auger anomalies at the Bereko and Bereko South prospects within our Kada Gold Project,” Managing Director Craig Mackay said.
“Now, to help us identify the extent and trend of the auger gold anomalies, and provide the best chance of success with the planned follow-up RC drilling of the oxide gold zones at Bereko and Bereko South, we have commenced an infill auger drilling program.”
Golden Rim was up 6.25 per cent on the market with shares trading at 6.8 cents at 12:48 pm AEST.
