Golden Rim Resources (GMR) has provided latest drilling results from exploration at its Kouri Gold Project in Burkina Faso.

So far, 2774 metres of a 9200-metre reverse circulation (RC) and 1011 metres of a 4000-metre diamond drilling program has been completed at Kouri Gold.

The company has returned some positive results, specifically in December, when it intersected a new zone of gold mineralisation.

“At present, we are systematically stepping out to the east of the existing 1.4Moz Mineral Resource at Kouri, along a major cross-structure and completing fences of drill holes at 100m intervals,” Managing Director Craig Mackay said.

The Kogodou prospect extends for 4 kilometres to the east of the current 1.4 million-ounce Mineral Resource.

For the past three months, six diamond holes and 12 RC holes were completed along the cross-structure that extends to the east of the Mineral Resource.

Drilling results have confirmed eastern strike extensions of at least 350 metres to the multiple, parallel gold lodes that comprise the Mineral Resource.

Best intercepts include 15 metres at 1.2g/t gold from 7 metres, including 1 metre at 11.6g/t gold, 8 metre at 2.2g/t gold from 106 metre, including 1 metre at 14.3g/t gold, 11 metre at 0.8g/t gold from 10 metre, including metre artisanal mining cavity and 4 metres at 1.4g/t gold from 81 metres.

Assays are pending for nine RC drill holes.

“The results so far have been impressive and we still have a further 3km along this cross-structure to explore,” Craig added.

Infill drilling in the Mineral Resource

The current spacing in the northeast part of the Mineral Resource is sparse. Infill drilling of 50 by 25 metres is planned to help upgrade the Mineral Resource.

Infill diamond hole BADH015 was completed last month and results have confirmed the continuity of the gold lodes within the Mineral Resource.

Results include 6 metres at 1.9g/t gold from 0 metres, including 1 metre at 10.1g/t gold; and 7 metres at 1.7g/t gold from 45 metres.

A follow-up hole 50 metres beneath BADH015 is planned to determine its full width.

RC drilling at the Diabatou Prospect

An intercept of 1 metre at 0.5g/t gold from 5 metres was obtained for RC hole MRC022 at the deposit.

This hole was completed 380 metres east-northeast of MR016 which returned 9 metres at 3.6g/t gold from 49 metres.

The orientation of the gold mineralisation in MR016 is uncertain. Golden Rim is planning on follow-up drilling located closer to MRC016. This is expected next month.

Results include: 2 metres at 5.7g/t gold from 114 metres and 1 metres at 1.9g/t gold from 56 metres.

These results have highlighted the potential of further significant mineralisation at Kouri.

Golden Rim’s shares remain flat and are trading for 1 cent each at 12:31 pm AEDT.
