- Guy brings over 25 years of experience in the retail industry, specialising in sales, distribution, merchandising and buying
- As a testament to his skills in buying, Guy was promoted to Head of Buying for online retailer, Catch Group, in 2014
- During his time at Catch, Guy introduced new principles to the buying department which has since made the retailer a ‘premium destination’ for branded products
- Guy will officially step into his director role on April 1
- Harris’ shares are down 3.85 per cent and trading at 12.5 cents
Harris Technology (HT8) has appointed Guy Polak as a company director effective from April 1 2021.
Harris Technology is an IT and electronic goods company who sells products such as mobile phone accessories, inks and toners, antivirus software and gaming products.
Guy brings over 25 years of experience in the retail industry, having specialised in sales, wholesale, distribution, buying, sourcing, merchandising and ownership.
In 2014, Guy was promoted to Head of Buying at Catch Group, an online marketplace retailer, where he reported directly to the CEO.
During his time at Catch, Guy reportedly transformed the buying department by introducing structure and buying principles which has since made Catch.com.au a ‘premium destination’ for branded products across a variety of categories.
The growth and success of the company is believed to be a major factor for the Wesfarmers acquisition in 2019.
Guy also has leadership experience from his time at Scoopon and Mumgo.
At the end of last year, Harris had around $2.23 million in cash and cash equivalents, leaving it well-funded to support sales and product growth over 2021.
Harris’ shares are down 3.85 per cent and trading at 12.5 cents at 1:20 pm AEDT.
