Monger Gold (MMG) has picked up a couple of high-grade gold hits from a recently completed geological mapping and sampling program across its Mt Monger South gold project in Western Australia.

The company said the highest grade of 89.79 grams per tonne gold returned from rock chip samples gathered during the mapping came from an in-situ limonitic quartz vein hosted within ultramafic host rock in the eastern sector of the Three Emus prospect.

The next highest grade of 9.65 g/t gold occurred in an in-situ quartz vein 360 metres north-west of Three Emus.

Monger Gold said it was planning a major geochemical sampling program to be undertaken in the first half of CY 2022 that would target the most prospective areas identified by the geological mapping program.

“Today’s results are exceptionally encouraging and warrant further exploration at the Mt Monger South project, of which planning is well under way,” Non-Executive Chairman Peretz Schapiro said.

“The early-stage nature of the Mt Monger South project dovetails nicely with our more advanced prospects at Mt Monger North, providing us with a significant number of prospective targets, all at different stages of the development pipeline.”

The company said a reverse circulation drilling campaign at Mt Monger North was scheduled to begin by the end of this month.

MMG shares finished the trading day 4.08 per cent higher at 25.5 cents.
