Horizon Minerals (HRZ) has completed drilling at its 100 per cent-owned Windanya Gold Project in Western Australia.

Windanya is situated within the Bardoc Tectonic Zone, 10 kilometres south of Bardoc Gold’s (BDC) three million ounce namesake gold project.

All up, 57 aircore holes, for 2097 metres, were drilled with a focus on areas between the central Eureka gold mine and the Capricorn prospect in the south.

The priority zone was an area 1.5 kilometres north of Capricorn where previous soil sampling outlined a 626 parts per billion (ppb) soil anomaly.

Six holes were drilled across this anomaly, returning a best result of two metres at 26.68g/t gold from 35 metres, including one metre at 39.71g/t gold from 35 metres.

Five holes were then drilled to the north of the Aquarius anomaly with work focussed on historical mineralisation where up to 5.0g/t gold had been intersected.

Significant quartz veining was identified, but deeper drilling will need to be undertaken to test these veins.

Thirteen holes were then drilled at the Scorpio Prospect where historical drilling intersected up to 0.64g/t gold. Additionally, 11 holes tested multiple abandoned workings 500 metres northwest of Scorpio.

Results are pending and further reverse circulation (RC) and aircore drilling programs are slated for the June quarter.

“To have hit such significant mineralisation in the first aircore program at Windanya is a fantastic result and testament to the quality of the target generation work completed in 2020 and full credit to our first-class exploration team,” Managing Director Jon Price said.

“The aircore program at Windanya will soon be followed up by RC drilling and we look forward to releasing further results from this very exciting region in the coming weeks,” he added.

Horizon is steady on the market and shares are trading at 9.9 cents at 1:44 pm AEDT.
