Iceni Gold (ICL) has intersected mineralisation at the North 1 target within its 14 Mile Well project in WA.

The company completed three diamond drill holes for 1552 metres, which all hit sulphide mineralisation and porphyries.

The sulphides were associated with zones of increased brecciation and veining, with the assemblage dominated by pyrrhotite and also includes pyrite, chalcopyrite and lesser arsenopyrite.

It said the observed geological features confirm the target was a focus for hydrothermal activity.

The company is continuing geological work to classify the observed felsic-intermediate porphyries to understand their relationship to the sulphides, potassic alteration
and the magnetic anomaly.

The drill core has been sent to Kalgoorlie for processing and sampling, before being sent for assay at a laboratory.

Shares were trading 10.5 per cent higher today at 10.5 cents each at 3:56 pm AEST.
