Golden State Mining (GSM) has advised that assay results from air-core (AC) drilling at its Yule project have been delayed due to industry-wide backlogs.

The company carried out more than 16,000 metres of AC drilling, testing 18 gold and lithium target areas at the project in WA’s Pilbara region.

It submitted 3990 drill core samples between October and November last year, with results now expected between February and April.

Commenting on the delay, Golden State said the new schedule “is in line with the industry-wide backlog and demand for analytical results across the state.”

Once the results have been received, follow-up AC drilling and a refined reverse circulation (RC) drill program will be planned for Yule.

Additionally, GSM is planning a geochemistry program at Four Mile Well and regional targeting across WA to identify new tenements.

Golden State’s Managing Director Michael Moore said 2022 was shaping up to be an exciting year.

“Our immediate focus will be to review and process the significant number of results from this latest phase of drilling.

“We’ll also continue to develop and refine further targets across the whole of our tenements including the exciting gold and lithium potential of the Yule East project area.

“2022 presents us with a number of exciting opportunities at Yule and Four Mile Well, combined with a state-wide geological review for further tenement applications where we’ll continue to deliver evidence-based exploration programs,” Mr Moore added.

Shares in Golden State Mining were down 1.2 per cent at 8.2 cents each at 12:41 am AEDT.
