Isentia Group (ISD) shares have dropped on cybersecurity incident on its Mediaportal platform.

Last week, the company was urgently investigating a cybersecurity incident that was impacting the delivery of services to customers.

Since then, Isentia has been able to contain the impact on Mediaportal and has secured the system. The company has been able to progressively restore a number of services in recent days.

However, the incident is expected to have an immediate impact on the company’s net profit before tax (NPBT), which is expected to drop between $7 million and $8.5 million for the 2021 financial year.

Last month, the company signed a three year $46.5 million senior debt facility with Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

The cyber incident happened in the middle of processing the new debt facility and as a result, the facility has been delayed.

“Isentia responded rapidly to the cybersecurity attack last week putting in place measures to support our customers and contain the impact on our systems,” CEO Ed Harrison said.

“We are pleased to report that we are making good progress in resolving this issue, with key elements of our service being restored each day and I would like to thank our customers for their patience during this time,” he added.

On the market this afternoon, Isentia is down 27 per cent and is trading for 13.5 cents per share at 12:21 pm AEDT.
