Jatcorp’s (JAT) dairy products will soon be sold on China’s second largest eCommerce platform JD.COM.

JAT has signed a deal with Shanghai Aoyou Trade Co, which has the exclusive rights to distribute Jatcorp’s products online for three years.

Shanghai specialises in importing high quality food, daily necessities and pet food from Australia and other countries, and is currently the major distributor for Woolworths in-house brand products in China.

While JD is China’s largest retailer by revenue, with over 266 million annual active users and owns more than 400 warehouses covering 2830 districts.

Among the products set to be sold on JD are JAT’s Moroka Formulated Milk Powder with Lactoferrin, Ione Full Cream Milk Powders, Ione Skim Milk Powders and Moroka Platinum Formulated Milk Powder with Lactoferrin.

The financial details of the deal haven’t been released, but Managing Director Wilton Yao said it was an important milestone for the business.

“We are extremely thrilled and elated with this important milestone. JD.COM is now a fantastic platform in order to expand the reach of JAT dairy products through its symbolic E-Commerce platform leveraging approximately 500 million active customers,” Mr Yao said.

“This arrangement with Shanghai Aoyou and JD.COM will provide JAT products extensive market presence and increase our reach in China, which we expect to trigger significant revenue for JAT.”

Jatcorp shares were trading up 11.8 per cent at 1.9 cents each at 11:18 am AEST.
