Kingwest Resources’ (KWR) Sir Laurence gold discovery, located within its Lake Goongarrie Project, has grown to over a one-kilometre strike length.

The company has completed the second aircore drilling program at Lake Goongarrie, which included 149 holes for 10,066 metres. Of these, 107 holes were drilled at Sir Laurence for 8821 metres, as well as 32 regional holes for 1245 metres.

It has now received assays for 63 of those holes, with the remainder still pending.

Results include two metres at 1.6 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold from 76 metres, eight metres at 0.7g/t gold from 72 metres and four metres at 0.7g/t of gold from 84 metres.

Over at Sir Laurence, assays have been received for 44 of the 107 holes. These results showed significant gold on every line over Sir Laurence’s strike length of at least one kilometre which once reinforces the ‘very large size’ of the Sir Laurence mineralised system. Mineralisation also remains open in all directions.

CEO Ed Turner commented on the results.

“To get significant gold intersections, including bedrock mineralisation, on every line drilled to date at Sir Laurence is exceptional,” he said.

“We now look forward to seeing what the diamond core drilling intersects and anticipate initial results before Christmas. We also look forward to the assay results from the remainder of the Sir Laurence holes and the regional holes.”

Kingwest is now undertaking a 1500-metre diamond core drilling program at Sir Laurence that will target the bedrock mineralisation already encountered in both aircore drilling programs.

Kingwest was down 10.4 per cent on the market to trade at 21.5 cents per share at 11:49 am AEDT.
