LiveTiles (LVT) has been granted U.S. Federal Government General Services Administration (GSA) approval.

This milestone will see the global software company be an approved GSA Vendor under the U.S. Government’s IT Schedule 70 multiple award schedule (MAS).

As an approved GSA Vendor, U.S. governmental agencies of any level will be able to quickly purchase LiveTiles’ technology and avoid the usual lengthy process.

The procurement phase usually goes for over 10 months and gaining this approval will reduce that to under 30 days.

The U.S. Federal Government is the largest buyer of IT products and services in the world. It’s projected to spend over A$127 billion in 2020 on IT, which is over 100 times more than the total spend on IT by the Australian government.

“We have been preparing for this approval for some time and will immediately execute plans to aggressively co-market and co-sell with our close partners in the U.S. public sector,” LiveTiles CEO Karl Redenbach said.

The approval positions the company in the U.S. public sector for developing opportunities to drive new customer growth.

It also allows LiveTiles and its partners to pursue opportunities with its co-selling partner, Microsoft, under Microsoft’s $14.6 billion Joint Enterprise Defence Infrastructure cloud contract with the U.S. Department of Defence.

In September 2019, LiveTiles teamed up with Microsoft to co-sell LiveTiles’ products on Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams is a communal platform that features workplace chats, video meetings, file storage and application integration.

“It is fantastic to see one of our strong partners in the U.S. successfully achieve GSA approval given the opportunity that is in front of us to jointly help the U.S. government achieve its technology and digital goals,” Senior Director of the Microsoft Industry for Government Kirk Arthur said.

LiveTiles is up 2.04 per cent with shares trading for 25 cents each at 11:36 am AEDT.
