Lucapa Diamond Company (LOM) and its partners have pocketed $17.9 million following the sale of six diamonds from the Lulo alluvial mine in Angola.

Lucapa and parnters, Endiama and Rosas & Petalas unearthed four large, top-quality white diamonds and two fancy pink diamonds from the mine, weighing a total of 336 carats.

The six diamonds were sold in Luanda via an international tender and fetched a total sale amount of US$12.8 million (around A$17.9 million), averaging US$38,006 (around A$53,200) per carat.

The transaction brings total sales year-to-date from the Lulo alluvial mine to a new annual record of US$73.8 million (approximately A$98.8 million) from a record 25,844 carats sold at an average price of US$2,857 (A$3,824) per carat.

Meanwhile, Lucapa and its project partners have continued exploring for potential primary source kimberlites or lamproites in Angola, the Brooking project in Australia and the Orapa Area F project in Botswana.

Lucapa Diamond Company shares last traded at $0.84 on November 30.
