When it comes to splurging money on mega-yachts, Roman Abramovich is our guy. Abramovich is a Russian billionaire businessman, who is perhaps best known outside Russia as the owner of Chelsea F.C., Premier League football club.

When it comes to the superyacht of Roman Abramovich, there aren’t two opinions on the subject.

Also, know as Eclipse, the superyacht was acquired by Abramovich in 2010 as his pleasure toy after five years of design and construction. Some reporters state that the yacht cost Roman around $490M to build. Yet, due to the additional amenities and security precautions that now take place on the boat, it’s currently priced at $620M.

And, truth be told, the superyacht is considerably pricey to maintain. It dives into Abramovich’s pocket to an approximately $65 million of depth, a year. Yet, at the end of the day, Roman Abramovich boasts the most luxurious and expensive yacht in the entire globe.

So, let’s see what makes Eclipse so unique and outstanding…

The yacht is designed with a diesel-electric propulsion system with generators powering rotating Azipod drives. Moreover, dramatic exterior styling and stunning interior design directly developed by London-based Terence Disdale Design are what make the superyacht actually shine.

Except for the interior design, the London-based Terence Disdale Design likewise boasts giving birth to other design ideas such as how should deck layouts, interior design and construction supervision be developed.

What’s more, is that the personal Abramovich’s deck on the yacht is 56-meters in length, and the boat can accommodate up to 66 crew and 36 guest members.

Truth be told, you might not be able to find another superyacht with more custom finishes than Eclipse of Abramovich. The uniqueness of the yacht stems from its three land helicopters squares and a 16-meter swimming pool. Just imagine relaxing in the pool in the middle of the sea and contemplating the beautiful water and nature around you. Well, that would be worth it, eh?

When it comes to winning year awards, Eclipse was voted Motor Yacht of the year at the World Superyacht Awards in 2011.

If we had to give one-word-description to this yacht, it would be: Magnificent, like any other world-class thing.
