Straight off the runway, these are beauty trends making waves from fashion week.
The beauty looks for the Spring 2020 collections saw glossy lips, pink blush, barely-there makeup and bold, sparkly eye looks inspired by HBO's new award winning show Euphoria.
A top trend seen at the latest fashion week is the glossy lip. In Paris, at the Louis Vuitton and Chanel Spring 2020 ready-to-wear shows the luxury brands loaded their models up with an ultimate shine giving off a sleek, wet finish. This trend carried over to Milan fashion week where Gucci used the glossy lip look on its runway. This is a sure trend making its way into everyday make-up routines.
Chanel has its own in-house super shine lip gloss range, either in the Rouge Coco Gloss or Rouge Allure gloss ranges. Another luxury designer with a gloss range is Tom Ford, the collection features lacquer finishes and some sparkles.
Light rosy cheeks were a recurring theme across fashion week. In Paris, Chloé models were painted with light pink blush, complimenting the nude and natural colours in the fashion houses' Spring 2020 collection. Over in New York, the elegant pink cheeks made another appearance at Dennis Basso's show, and the trend followed on into Milan where the Dolce and Gabbana models wore light rose colour on their cheeks.
Dior specialises in pretty pink blushes in its Rouge Blush range which has eight various shades of rosy pinks. Too Faced's Love Flush Blush range also comes in three beautiful shades of pink which add a pop of colour to the cheeks.
Barely there makeup
Taking a step back, creating a barely-there makeup look on the fashion week runway was another popular choice. At Alexander Wang's show in New York, the natural look was in full force with no bright colours or sharp contours. Instead, dewey skin was favoured with a nude-pink lip. At London fashion week Burberry took a similar path with a focus placed on creating a makeup look that appeared to use little makeup. Again the trend followed and was also seen at Paris fashion week during Saint Laurent's Spring 2020 collection. Models wore very natural and nude colours on their face giving the barely-there appearance.
A light and dewey foundation is perfect to create the natural, barely-there makeup looks. Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk foundation range is a tried a true option. For a radiant and dewey look, Stila's Stay All Day foundation is a great option for glowing skin.
The Euphoria look
Inspired by HBO's hit series Euphoria fashion week runways embodied the futuristic party-girl look, emphasising colour, sparkle and shine with bold eye looks. At the Fendi show in Milan, models wore smudged silver and gunmetal glitter under the eye, partnered with a smudged smokey eye. In London, House of Holland made use of bright neon colours to create dramatic eye looks layered with glitter -embodying the Euphoria spirit. At Off-White's show in New York, models wore glitter across the bridge of their nose, taking a unique approach to incorporating sparkle in true Euphoria fashion.
Rihanna's Fenty beauty line released the Moroccan Spice eyeshadow palette which comes with 16 matte and sparkly shades perfect for creating a Euphoria look. Viseart's Grande Pro Volume 2 Eyeshadow Palette is another amazing choice which comes with 30 bright, bold, neon and sparkling colours, almost as if it was designed with this trend in mind.
