Mamba Exploration (M24) has completed initial drilling of 56 shallow reverse circulation (RC) holes at its Calyerup Creek gold project on Western Australia’s south coast.

The drill program aimed to test the Southern prospect and two significant soil trends identified in a previous sampling program.

The company has already reported on the first 22 holes, with results from the remaining 34 expected in April.

The program of works for the next phase of exploration has been approved, allowing for 110 holes of follow-up drilling to be undertaken within a four-year period.

An activity notice has been sent to traditional land owners in the area, north of Bremer Bay, with a heritage survey planned within the next eight weeks.

The company expects to start follow-up drilling before winter.

A prescribed burn is planned to take place at the project at a similar time, however Mamba is working to minimise the impact it has on exploration activities.

Shares were trading down 6.67 per cent at 14 cents at 3:52 pm AEDT.
