Marquee Resources (MQR) has confirmed the presence of lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites at its West Spargoville Lithium Project in Western Australia.

Results have now been received from a 93-hole aircore (AC) drilling program undertaken in the eastern portion of the project.

A large geochemical halo extending over two kilometres in length and up to 300 metres in width was identified and will be subject to follow-up reverse circulation (RC) drilling to target the source.

Further, up to 23.3 parts per million (ppm) beryllium, 313 ppm cesium, 119 ppm lithium, 58.9 ppm niobium, 1370 ppm rubidium, 75.2 ppm tin and 42.5 ppm tantalum was intersected.

RC drilling has already begun to test multiple geochemical anomalies identified during the AC drilling program.

Marquee intersected multiple pegmatitic dykes and the first batch of assays are at the lab for analysis with results expected in four to six weeks.

“To identify pegmatites with clear LCT geochemical signatures is highly encouraging and confirms the prospectivity of the West Spargoville Project,” Executive Chairman Charles Thomas said.

“There had been no lithium exploration completed at the project 12 months ago so we are making great progress and look forward to keeping the market updated as more results come to light.

“We are currently systematically exploring the project with RC drilling continuing for the foreseeable future and will begin another round of aircore drilling in the last week of June so it is a very exciting time for the company.”

Marquee was down 1.43 per cent on the market with shares trading at 6.9 cents 11:41 am AEST.
