Metal Hawk (MHK) has hit strong gold mineralisation at the Kanowna East Project in Western Australia.
Kanowna East has been poorly explored with only 103 aircore (AC) and rotary airblast (RAB) holes recorded.
Metal Hawk recently undertook wide-spaced AC drilling to test the bedrock geochemistry under the cover sequences that spans most of the project.
Pleasingly, significant gold mineralisation was intersected in multiple holes at the Little Lake and Western Tiger prospects.
Little Lake
Previous drilling at Little Lake returned a singular result of 18 metres at 1.2g/t gold from 60 metres.
Recent drilling from Metal Hawk intersected highly anomalous gold 400 metres north of this previous result.
Best results include four metres at 7.1g/t gold from 55 metres, and five metres at 2.24g/t gold from 65 metres.
Western Tiger
Drilling at Western Tiger identified a number of anomalies near the western edge of the tenement.
Best results include six metres at 1.54g/t gold from 54 metres, and six metres at 1.19g/t gold from 57 metres.
“These very encouraging results from our maiden drilling program support our belief that there could be a significant gold system at Kanowna East,” Managing Director Will Belbin said.
“Systematic exploration is set to continue with a track-mounted lake AC rig scheduled to commence this month with approximately 45 holes remaining to complete stage-1 of the company’s extensive maiden drilling campaign,” he added.
Stage-2 drilling is set to begin in Q2 with aircore and reverse circulation drilling planned to further test the bedrock.
Furthermore, a program of work approval has been granted, allowing Metal Hawk to undertake additional drilling north of Little Lake.
Metal Hawk is up 10.5 per cent and shares are trading at 21 cents at 1:03 pm AEDT.
