Mithril Resources (MTH) has intersected up to 837 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) and 6680g/t silver from the El Refugio structure in Mexico.

The El Refugio structure is part of the Copalquin gold-silver project which lies within the Copalquin Gold Silver District and hosts several dozen historical gold and silver mines.

Mithril has received results from a further three holes which were drilled to test the depth and strike extents of the high-grade ‘clavo’ zone and the zones predicted by geological modelling.

Hole CDH-077 returned the best result of 8.26 metres at 80.3g/t gold and 705g/t silver from 468.34 metres including 0.77 metres at 837g/t and 6680g/t silver from 471.63 metres.

Other results include 2.65 metres at 16.3g/t gold and 414g/t silver from 315 metres, 4.25 metres at 10.9g/t gold and 364g/t silver from 307.05 metres and five metres at 2.06g/t and 34.8g/t silver from 358.5 metres.

These results continue to expand the El Refugio structure down-dip with further holes planned to continue this work.

Managing Director John Skeet is pleased with the results and how significant they are.

“The extremely high-grade intercept in our deepest drill hole CDH-077 has extended the high-grade clavo at El Refugio a further 160 metres down dip,” Mr Skeet said.

“In this exceptional CDH-077 intercept we have observed mineralisation including abundant coarse gold and silver sulphides, consistent with having intercepted the bonanza zone as predicted by the geologic model.”

“Drilling at El Refugio has continued to consistently deliver excellent results establishing El Refugio as a significant deposit for gold and silver in the Copalquin district.”

Mithril was up a healthy 18.8 per cent on the market with shares trading at 1.9 cents at 10:48 am AEST.
