Morella Corporation (1MC) has completed a drilling program at the Mallina lithium project in Western Australia.

Partially funded by the WA Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), drilling preparations began in late March before the program officially commenced in April.

The reverse circulation (RC) and core drilling program was designed to intersect hybrid dykes at the Pegmatite 2 and Area C prospects at depth and test for blind primary pegmatite sheets at depth.

Three RC holes were drilled for 430 metres and four diamond core holes were drilled to 831.4 metres, including two core tail extensions that were completed.

The RC chips and drill core were logged on site by a geological team and samples have been prepared for mineralogical studies and geochemical assay work to be completed at an independent laboratory in Perth.

All RC chips and core samples are currently being consolidated at Port Hedland, ready for transportation to Perth.

While logistics efforts has commenced and assay testing is underway, the Mallina project will undergo further exploration efforts as part of Morella’s program of work for selected tenements within the Sayona earn-in portfolio.

A successful geophysics campaign will be followed by further field work to identify and develop the next round of drilling targets at Mallina and other prospective tenements.

The results from this most recent campaign may determine the exploration pathway.

Morella will provide half-core samples to the Department of Mining, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) as part of the project and will allow public access to drill core material after the confidentiality period expiry.

Shares in Morella were down 6.25 per cent to trade at 2.3 cents at 11:42 am AEST.
