Recent drilling at Navarre Minerals’ (NML) Langi Logan gold prospect in Victoria has confirmed a new area prospective for shallow gold mineralisation.

The company recently completed a 24-hole aircore drilling program to test new gold targets on the northern end of the Langi Logan No.3 basalt and locate a potential offset of known gold mineralisation on the No.2 basalt.

Results include one metre at 2.4 gram per tonne (g/t) gold from 76 metres, one metre at 0.2 per cent zinc from 101 metres and four metres at 1.5 g/t gold, 3.2 g/t silver and 0.1 per cent zinc.

The results confirm the prospectivity of the northeastern flank of the No.3 basalt which will be the focus of future drilling programs.

The results also show evidence of two new parallel structures on the northeastern flank of the No.3 basalt which extends a strike of roughly 350 metres.

Further, mineralisation remains open and contains anomalous levels of gold, silver, lead, zinc and rare copper.

“We are highly encouraged by our first program of reconnaissance aircore drilling, testing gold targets predicted from simulated models across the northern end of the Langi Logan No.3 basalt,” Managing Director Ian Holland said.

“The drilling has intersected significant zones of quartz-sulphide mineralisation across two parallel structures that are anomalous in gold, silver, zinc, copper and lead.

“The key takeaway for investors is that we have confirmed a new prospective area for shallow gold mineralisation at Langi Logan with important vectors for ongoing exploration.”

Navarre shares were up 2.04 per cent and trading at 5 cents at 10:39 am AEST.
