New World Resources (NWC) has received new high-grade assay results from nine recently completed drill-holes at the Antler Copper Project in Arizona, USA.

Recent drilling has been targeting extensions of the very thick, high-grade mineralisation that extends down-dip from the historical works, which remain completely open at depth.

Drilling also sought to target the poorly explored strike extensions of the Antler Deposit, particularly in the south, which also remains open at depth. This was targeted in late 2020 after a new shoot of thicker mineralisation was discovered.

Having completed ground magnetic and induced polarisation surveys over and along strike from the deposit between June and September 2020, New World began drilling in the area to the south of the historical workings in October to test for strike extensions of the mineralisation.

This was followed by a series of follow-up holes to explore the extensions of the mineralisation.

Best intercepts include 6.2 metres at 4.05 per cent copper, 12.13 per cent zinc, 1.59 per cent lead, 50.9 g/t silver and 0.24 g/t gold from 343.4 metres.

The company also reported visual results from drilling at drill hole ANTDD202156, which intersected a 17-metre interval of predominantly massive and semi-massive sulphide copper and zinc-rich mineralisation.

This has been the deepest hole drilled to date in the new South Shoot.

The down-dip extent of the South Shoot now stands at around 250 metres, with the mineralisation remaining completely open at depth.

“We are really pleased to have received these outstanding assay results that reaffirm we have a really prospective, very-high-grade near-term development proposition in Antler,” said New World Managing Director Mike Haynes.

“The exceptionally high grades returned from one of the discovery holes drilled into the new South Shoot is a particularly encouraging development,” he added.

“This adds extremely valuable high-grade tonnes to our resource base, in a newly discovered area,”

Assays are still pending for 12 additional drill holes, but results are expected over the coming weeks.

Two diamond ore rigs are continuing to operate at the Antler Project to explore the depths of both the South and Main Shoot.

New World Resources is up 1.41 per cent, trading at 7.2 cents at 9:30 am AEDT.
