Next Science’s (NXS) CEO has announced her intention to retire before June 30, 2023.

The company’s MD and CEO, Judith Mitchell, announced her intention to step down from her leadership position, citing her desire to return to Sydney, rather than make a long-term commitment to reside overseas.

Ms Mitchell temporarily moved to the US in October and advised the board that having been on the ground for the last six months, the business would benefit from the CEO being located in America.

As such, her successor will be based in the US in Next Science’s Jacksonville, Florida offices.

Next Science’s Chair, Mark Compton, praised Ms Mitchell for her leadership contribution to the company.

“Judy’s contribution since her appointment in 2017 has included more than tripling revenues from US$2.84 million (A$3.98 million) in FY18 to US$8.94 million ($A12.5 million) in FY21 and leading a successful listing of the company on the ASX in 2019.”

“The board is grateful to Judy for allowing it the time required to identify an appropriate successor and will commence a global search immediately.”

Judith Mitchell said she’s committed to supporting an orderly transition to a new CEO and will remain in the US until a successful transition takes place.

Next Science was down 2.96 per cent, trading at 82 cents at 2:09 pm AEST.
