Noronex (NRX) has begun an aerial electromagnetic (EM) survey at its 780-square-kilometre Kalahari Copper Belt projects in Namibia.

This EM survey marks the first to be undertaken at the project areas and is aimed at generating new exploration targets to expand on 150,000 metres of historical drilling.

The targets will then be incorporated into a drilling program to begin at some point this year.

Additionally, Noronex will utilise the historical drilling data to undertake an updated resource estimate on part of the project areas. An initial resource is expected in February.

NRG has been contracted to conduct the aerial EM survey over the two main Kalahari Copper Belt projects which comprise three exclusive prospecting licences that cover 78,000 hectares and are prospective for copper-silver mineralisation.

While the Kalahari Copper Belt spans Namibia and Botswana, the survey will focus on the Witvlei and Dordabis projects which lie within Namibia.

Each survey area will take roughly two to three weeks to complete and will involve low flying of the electromagnetic (EM) loop on 200-metre lines and can target mineralisation at a significant depth and undercover. The survey will be followed by data processing.

Noronex is trading flat at 15 cents at 3:06 pm AEDT.
