Odyssey Gold (ODY) has appointed gold geologist Matthew Briggs as CEO and Managing Director, effective January 17, 2022.

Mr Briggs is an experienced professional exploration geologist with a background in gold exploration and mining in Australia.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the mine geology, exploration, project management and strategic leadership sectors.

Since graduating as a geologist from the University of Queensland, Mr Briggs has worked at a number of mine sites in Western Australia and in Africa.

Prior to joining Odyssey, Mr Briggs was Managing Director of gold exploration company, Prodigy Gold (PRX).

At Odyssey, Mr Briggs will be paid a salary of $300,000 per year as well as a discretionary performance bonus of up to $50,000 per year based upon the achievement of relevant key performance indicators.

He will also be issued two million incentive options – exercisable at various prices – and six million performance rights which will convert into ordinary shares upon various milestones reached.

Further, Odyssey may terminate Mr Briggs’ contract without cause by providing three months written notice.

Shares in Odyssey were steady on the market and were trading at 6.9 cents at 2:33 pm AEDT.
