Officeworks has agreed to sell SECOS (SES) as the supplier of certified compostable courier bags on its online digital store.

An initial order has been received from Lectronic Supply Hub, which will manage SECOS MyEcoBag, compostable courier bags, for Officeworks.

This deal follows on from the company’s recent success in supplying Veterans Canteen Services with MyEcoPet compostable bags in the USA and MyEcoBag range to Woolworths in Australia.

Volumes of the product will be subject to sales with the product expected to be available for sale within the next four to six weeks.

The compostable courier bags will be available in A4 and A3 sizes and will be sold in an individual compostable outer cover containing five compostable courier bags per pack.

Around 28 per cent of the world’s population shop online through digital channels with consumers and businesses are increasingly drawn towards sustainable packaging solutions.

Commenting on the news is SECOS Group CEO, Ian Stacey.

“SECOS participates across the value chain and sees this as a logical extension of SECOS’ branded offerings into an expanding retail market as we move up the value chain,” he said.

On the market this afternoon, SECOS was up 5.17 per cent and is trading at 30.5 cents per share at 12:13 pm AEDT.
