Panoramic Resources (PAN) has commenced a surface drilling program at its Savannah Nickel project in Western Australia.

The drill program’s main objective is to test previously modelled electromagnetic (EM) conductors at both Panoramic’s Stoney Creek and Northern Ultramafic Granulite intrusions.

When completed, all drill holes will be cased for ongoing drill hole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys.

Managing Director and CEO Victor Rajasooriar said the company was hoping to replicate the success it had seen in its recent underground drilling at Savannah.

“The initial program will provide important information on the source of two priority conductor targets which have potential to be nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide mineralisation as we’ve seen at Savannah,” Mr Rajasooriar said.

Under the drilling program, Panoramic plans to drill three holes for 2000 metres.

At Stoney Creek, drilling will target an anomaly first discovered from a drill hole in 2020 and subsequent electromagnetic soundings and fix-loop electromagnetic (FLEM) surveys.

At Northern Ultramafic Granulite, one of the planned holes will target a series of bedrock conductors highlighted from downhole electromagnetic work in the area.

The second hole will provide a deep DHEM platform to further explore the more prospective ultramafic eastern and south-eastern portions of the Northern Ultramafic Granulite.

PAN shares last traded at 26.5 cents as of May 19.
