Province Resources’ (PRL) HyEnergy green energy project has been awarded lead agency status by the Western Australian Government.
This recognises the development as a significant project which is in WA’s interest.
The official status allows for a higher level of facilitation to be coordinated by a state agency, in this case, the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI).
JTSI will help the company guide the development through government approval.
HyEnergy Project is a potential renewable green hydrogen project that is located in Western Australia’s Gascoyne region.
Province Resources has teamed up with Total Eren to complete the scoping studies and to potentially develop the project, with the scoping study nearly completed.
Hydrogen Industry Minister Alannah MacTiernan announced the lead agency status at a ceremony over the weekend to open Province Resources’ new Carnarvon office, which will support the development.
“Lead Agency Status recognises the very real significance of Province’s HyEnergy Project as we position WA as a global renewable hydrogen force,” Ms MacTiernan said.
“This will deliver to the project access to coordinated and streamlined Government support. We look forward to continuing to work with Province on this opportunity for the Gascoyne region and for our State.”
Province Resources Managing Director David Frances said this awarding is an important milestone.
“The formal appointment of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation as lead agency will provide significant assistance in obtaining government approvals,” Mr Frances said.
“The decision also elevates the status of the HyEnergy Project as a significant development for the State, and one which will make a major economic contribution to the Gascoyne region and beyond.”
Just before the market opens for the week, Province last traded at 14 cents per share.
