Red Mountain Mining (RMX) has completed drilling at its flagship Mt Mansbridge heavy rare earth and nickel-cobalt-platinum group element project in WA.

The company began reverse circulation (RC) drilling in mid-July to follow up and test previous drilling at the Déjà vu and Solo prospects to validate prior work and intercepts. Two geophysical magnetic targets at Cow Creek were also drilled.

At the Solo Prospect, observations noted both holes intersected quartz-rich, chlorite/sericite altered sandstone with thin ultramafic units.

Three holes were drilled at Déjà vu and were dominated by serpentised epidote-rich ultramafic with magnesite, chlorite and minor trace amounts of pyrite.

Further, both holes at Cow Creek intersected felsic intrusive with strong chlorite alteration and minor dispersed pyrite and chalcopyrite.

“The phase two drilling program has now been completed at Mt Mansbridge on time and as planned to test several targets, where there is historical drilling with anomalous rare earth and cobalt values identified in previous RC drill holes,” Non-Executive Chairman Troy Flannery said.

“The observed geology and sulphide mineralisation at Cow Creek is a technical success and has validated the presence of a large mafic/ultramafic intrusive complex at Cow Creek.”

Maiden grab sampling was also completed at an area south of the Boba Fett prospect with all samples being processed and submitted to the laboratory for analysis.

Red Mountain was up 7.69 per cent with shares trading at 0.7 cents at 12:34 pm AEST.
