Resolute Mining (RSG) has reported explorations results from its 2019 drilling campaign in Mali.

Drilling was focused on expanding mineral resources at Syama satellite prospects. Results from Tabakoroni confirm high grade shoots with 12 metres at 93.16 grams per tonne of gold from 133 metres.

Tabakoroni mineralisation has now outlined to modest depths of approximately 250 metres with significant further depth potential.

Drilling at Tabakoroni will continue throughout 2020 along a 1.8-kilometre strike length of identified mineralisation.

CEO John Welborn is pleased with the excellent high-grade intersections from drilling at Tabakoron

“We remain confident that further drilling will expand our underground resource model and form the basis of a future high-grade underground mine,” he said.

“Of equal importance is our success in growing available oxide resources. Open-pit mining at Tabakoroni is exceeding expectations with high-grade ore resulting in record production from the Syama oxide processing circuit in 2019,” he added.

Planning for the development of a new underground mine at Tabakoroni has now commenced. Resolute has started a feasibility study, which will examine options for selective mining of high-grade shoots.

“Studies in 2020 will focus on mineral resource expansion and re-estimation, geotechnical assessment and metallurgical test work,” the company told the market.

Resolute aims to complete the studies in 2020, meaning development is expected to commence in 2021/2022.

The company has also conducted regional exploration, focused on expansion, of available satellite oxide deposits. Its recent work has been focused on the Cashew NE and Paysans prospects, which are close to the Syama processing plant.

“Ore from these satellite deposits has the potential to provide additional feed for the oxide circuit and extend oxide processing mine life at Syama,” the company said.

Following the completion of the drilling, a mineral resource was estimated for Cashew and Paysans.

Cashew’s new oxide resource consists of 1.6 million tonnes at 2.0g/t of gold for approximately 100,000 ounces of gold. While Payson’s is 5.1 million tonnes at 1.7g/t gold for approximately 270,000 ounces of gold.

These positive results will expand sulphide resources at Tabakoroni as well as build on the open pit oxide mineral resource inventory at Tabakoroni, Cashew and Paysans.

On market close, Resolute is up 2.59 per cent and is trading at $1.19 apiece.
