Roto-Gro Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Roto-Gro International (RGI), has secured an Australian patent for its stackable modular rotatable gardening system.

Roto-Gro International provides sustainable and cost-effective solutions to conventional and indoor vertical farms using its state-of-the-art, automated agricultural cultivation technology.

The company applied to IP Australia for the patent in October 2015, with the newly granted licence complementing the patents it holds in the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Roto-Gro CEO Michael Di Tommaso said the company has established itself as the pioneer of rotational garden systems in the indoor vertical farming space.

“Our intellectual property rights are now protected in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia, exhibiting Roto-Gro’s true global presence,” he said.

“This added protection from the infringement of our proprietary technology in Australia opens the doors to significant opportunities in both the lawful cannabis cultivation space and the perishable foods cultivation space,” Michael added.

The company is pursuing recently filed provisional patent applications in the United States.

Roto-Gro shares are down 7.41 per cent, trading at 5 cents at 5:55 pm AEDT.
