Sayona Mining (SYA) has identified multiple new spodumene pegmatites in its latest drilling at the Moblan lithium project in Quebec.

The company completed a 35-hole diamond drill program, which saw grades of up to two per lithium oxide.

SYA said the new discoveries have the potential to “significantly” increase its North American resource base.

The results suggest the pegmatites were more developed at depth, indicating the potential for multiple pegmatite cluster discoveries.

One of the best results included 32.1 metres at two per cent lithium oxide from 94.1 metres.

Managing Director Brett Lynch said he was pleased with the results.

“These latest results are another boost to our emerging northern lithium hub, demonstrating Moblan’s potential to become a world‐class deposit in a proven lithium region,” he said.

SYA has progressed drilling, with three drill rigs and a new 20,000-metre drill program underway to conduct a new resource calculation at the project.

Shares in the company were up 10 per cent to trade at 13.8 cents as of 10:47 am AEST.
