Skincare company Skin Elements (SKN) has announced the commercial launch of its Invisi Shield personal care hand sanitiser range.

The company spent the past two years researching, developing, and test marketing hand sanitiser products. Skin Elements’ collaborated throughout the process with Absolut Solutions Pty Ltd. The work was part of Skin Elements’ ongoing research into natural skincare formulas.

Executive Chairman, Peter Malone, noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused an unprecedented demand for hand sanitisers. As a result, the company decided that now was the time to launch the sanitiser range.

The Invisi Shield product range offers personal users a broad spectrum of antimicrobial control and protection. The new range includes the Extended Life Hand Sanitiser, the Natural Hand Sanitiser, and the Natural Alcohol-Free Hand Sanitiser.

Both the Extended Life and Natural hand sanitisers are deemed to be personal cosmetic products. As a result, neither of them require registration by the Therapeutics Goods Association.

The Extended Life sanitiser is alcohol-free, with effectiveness against germs that can last for up to 24 hours. Skin Elements is currently producing the product, which is now available in limited supply, directly from the company. The sanitiser will be more readily available online in April 2020.

The Natural sanitiser is a fast-acting plant-based alcohol formula, with natural moisturisers. It is ready for manufacturing and will be available in April, both online and through select Australian distributors.

The Natural Alcohol-Free sanitiser is also plant-based and contains natural bioflavonoid extracts. While the product is still being formulated, it will have up to two hours of antimicrobial action once finalised. The sanitiser has yet to undergo a regulatory assessment or appropriate laboratory testing. As such, the company can not say when the product will be available for sale.

Shares in Skin Elements have skyrocketed 72.7 per cent today, trading for 3.8 cents apiece at 11:26 am AEDT.
