  • 20 RC holes were drilled across the Yidby Road, Cashens Find, and Delaney Well prospects
  • Of the 20 holes drilled, significant intersections were received from 10, coming from all three prospects

Surefire Resources (SRN) has uncovered further exceptional results from its reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Yidby Gold Project.

The Yidby Gold Project is situated within the southern portion of the Yalgoo-Singleton Greenstone Belt and lies 320 kilometres northeast of Perth in Western Australia.

20 RC holes, for 1687 metres, were drilled across the Yidby Road, Cashens Find, and Delaney Well prospects.

Of the 20 holes drilled, significant intersections were received from 10 across all three prospects.

Yidby Road

The best result of 16 metres at 1.51g/t gold from 50 metres, including one metre at 13.43g/t gold from 51 metres has confirmed the extensive, high-grade intersections previously announced.

These results also show broader zones of mineralisation with higher grade intersections than historical work.

Mineralisation remains open up-dip and along the northwest strike.

Cashens Find

Three RC holes were drilled at the Cashens Find Prospect to target historic workings.

Drilling beneath the main workings replicated historical results and returned a best result of nine metres at 4.17g/t gold from 18 metres including three metres at 9.41g/t gold.

Additionally, all three of the holes intersected more than 2.0g/t gold.

Delaney Well

Five RC holes, for 312 metres, were drilled at Delaney Well to test the steep plunging shoots that were not thoroughly tested by historic drilling.

A best result of four metres at 1.46g/t gold from 18 metres including one metre at 3.81g/t gold was returned.

Further work is required to follow-up and repeat the historic results where up to 17.7g/t gold was intersected.

“These exceptional new intersections confirm the extensive, thick and high-grade, gold mineralisation at Yidby Road, and also highlight the potential of Cashens Find to represent a second significant discovery,” Managing Director Vladimir Nikolaenko said.

“Drilling will now be planned to extend these new discoveries that are associated with interpreted regional structures that each continue for up to five kilometres in Surefire’s tenements,” he added.

Follow-up drilling has been planned at Yidby Road and Cashens Find to target further high-grade gold mineralisation.

Despite these results, shares in Surefire are down 20 per cent in early morning trade, trading at 3.6 cents at 10:35 am AEDT.
