Swift Media has won a contract from Rio Tinto to install entertainment systems at its workforce accommodation villages.

The contract is worth between $1 million to $1.5 million and includes standard industry payment terms.

Swift Media will install and commission Wi-Fi access points, motoring, and management equipment to over 6600 rooms. However, this deal comes under tight deadlines as Rio wants Swift to complete the project by the end of the year.

Swift Media CEO Pippa Leary said the company is pleased with the contract by Rio.

“We have worked closely with Rio over 11 years and look forward to strengthening the partnership going forward,” Pippa said.

“This agreement is central to our core strategy of leveraging our market leading position to drive growth in our key mining and resources vertical,” she added.

Swift Media delivers entertainment to guest accommodation, workforce communities, and other large captive audience environments.

It delivers on-demand content, targeted advertising, and industry specific digital services to businesses audiences.

This project is located in the Brockman area and is part of stages three to six of the Rio standardisation and improvement project.

Last month, Swift Media completed a $1.5 million placement to fund digital growth in the aged care sector.

Swift Media remains steady on the Australian Securities Exchange this morning and is trading at 14 cents per share at 11:30 am AEDT.
