Tennant Minerals (TMS) has begun a 4500-metre diamond drilling program at the Bluebird copper-gold discovery in the Northern Territory.

The aim of this drilling is to scope out and expand the high-grade Bluebird copper-gold mineralisation.

The drilling will be undertaken in two phases with phase one consisting of six holes, for 1500 metres, to target the central thickest part of the west-plunging copper-gold shoot.

Stage two drilling will then be undertaken to expand the footprint of Bluebird to over 300 metres in strike and 300 metres in depth.

In addition to the drilling program, Drone Geoscience and Southern Geoscience are in the final stages of processing and modelling data from a recently completed drone magnetics survey.

Tennant hopes the data will define further magnetic-gravity copper-gold targets which will be subject to drill testing.

“We are delighted to commence this key diamond drilling program to follow up on the exceptional high-grade results achieved to date at Bluebird and to help define the scale of this exciting copper-gold discovery,” Chairman Matthew Driscoll said.

“We also look forward to receiving the modelled results from the recently-completed drone magnetics survey, which we expect to highlight the outstanding potential for additional copper-gold discoveries within the broader five-kilometre Bluebird Corridor.”

Tennant was up 5.56 per cent with shares trading at 3.8 cents at 10:31 am AEST.
