Tesoro Resources’ (TSO) newest discovery has expanded its Ternera Gold System at the El Zorro Gold Project in Chile.

Assay results from the first hole drilled at the Ternera East Target returned multiple zones of gold mineralisation, including hits of 21.28 metres at 0.34g/t gold from 97.5 metres, including 4.5 metres at 1.14g/t gold from 105 metres.

This drilling expanded the drilled Ternera gold system around 500 metres to the east.

Tesoro Managing Direct, Zeff Reeves says the results are a significant development for the project and highlight the potential for the Ternera gold deposit to be further expanded with more drilling.

“This is an exceptional result for the first hole into the new Ternera East Target and indicates the presence of significant gold mineralisation with the EZT [El Zorro Tonalite] in the hanging wall of the Ternera gold deposit,” Zeff Reeves said.

“The Tesoro team is prioritising additional drilling at Ternera East to rapidly delineate what is emerging as a major extension to the expanding Ternera gold deposit.”

Additional drilling has now been planned to further define the gold resources at Ternera East.

Meanwhile, assays are still pending from a second hole at Ternera East which intercepted altered El Zorro tonalite up to 100 metres thick. Ternera remains open in all directions, with six drill rigs operating around the clock.

To date, Tesoro has completed 190 diamond drillholes at the El Zorro Gold Project for 58,555 metres, with assays still pending for 57 holes.

Tesoro Resources was trading flat at 15 cents at 10:35 am AEST.
