Tesoro Resources (TSO) has received results from an additional five holes completed at the Ternera prospect at the El Zorro Gold Project in Chile.

All five of the holes returned positive gold intercepts, with the grades confirming the continuity and scale of a new gold zone.

Best new results include 27 metres at 1.16g/t gold from 89 metres, including two metres at 8.06g/t gold from 114 metres, and 220 metres at 0.86g/t gold from 76 metres, including 15.5 metres at 5.49g/t gold from 270 metres.

These results continue to expand the gold mineralisation at Ternera, which remains open in all directions.

“Drilling continues to expand the Ternera gold deposit. We are continually encouraged by the consistency and widespread nature of gold mineralisation in the Ternera system, with new gold zones now emerging to the south where we have not previously drilled,” Managing Director Zeff Reeves commented.

“The wide mineralised zone emerging to the north east is also expanding, and the continuity of mineralisation between holes over a large distance is encouraging,” he added.

“Gold mineralisation has now been confirmed over an area of 800 metres by 850 metres, from surface to over 400 metres depth and is open in all directions as Ternera continues to grow,” Zeff continued.

Four diamond rigs are now operating 24 hours a day at Ternera to continue to define and expand the deposit.

Further detailed metallurgical, geotechnical and hydrological studies will begin in the coming months to advance El Zorro.

Tesoro is down 1.79 per cent on the market and shares are trading at 27.5 cents at 10:35 am AEDT.
