The King's School is one of Australia's oldest independent schools and is located in the heart of Australia's largest city
The King’s School is recognised for its vibrant and supportive community, its values and commitment to realising the potential of young men, and providing a balanced education that challenges each of its students to realise their full potential.
The King's School has a rich heritage, most particularly in innovation in boys' education. Since the School's founding at Harrisford on George Street, Parramatta in 1832, through to the beloved Riverside site on the northern banks of the river and thence on to Gowan Brae, the School has grown to take its place in the vanguard of boys' education. All the while with academic excellence, character development, unique opportunities and first class facilities being the hallmarks of a King's School education.
The King's School offers education to boys from Pre-Kindergarten (4 year of age) through to Year 12. A Christian community, King’s is also one of the largest boarding schools in Australia with unique links to the rural sector, along with a very significant enrolment from the city as dayboys and weekly boarders.
The reason for there being a steady flow of applicants to wanting to come to King's rests on three things –academic excellence, character development and Christian Community.
Participation in sport is also considered as an important part of the educational philosophy at King's. We cater for boys at all levels in a wide variety of sports and the experiences gained in all areas are supportive of the educational aims of the School.
King's is a member of the AAGPS sporting organisation that arguably provides our boys with most keenly contested schoolboy sporting contests in the country. Games are organised between the member schools of the AAGPS and a number of other schools in order to provide teams with evenly matched contests, based on ability, on a weekly basis.
