Tietto Minerals’ (TIE) infill drilling of the key AG Core deposit at its Abujar project in Côte d’Ivoire has returned a stellar gold intersection of 262.59 grams per tonne over an interval of 1.4 metres.

The company reported assay results from 17 recent diamond holes drilled at the AG Core area as part of its massive infill program were highlighted by an intercept of 2.4 metres grading 153.49 g/t gold from 31.6m, which included the 1.4 metres at 262.59 g/t.

It marked the 12th interval of greater than 200 gold gram metres at AG Core, Tietto noted.

Another of the high-grade gold hits from the latest batch of results was 12 metres at 11.99 g/t from 64 metres including five metres at 28.22 g/t.

Infill drilling was completed on 25-metre line spacing across AG Core to a depth covering the first two years of forecast gold production at the developing Abujar gold project.

Tietto said the infill program was designed to upgrade the AG deposit’s 1.65-million-ounce mineral resource estimate from the indicated category to measured status.

“We have again added multiple high‐grade gold intercepts from infill drilling at AG Core. Intercepts from our infill drill program account for 50 per cent of the top 10 assays at Abujar, including the project‐best result of 1.1 metres at 2853 g/t gold,” Managing Director Dr Caigen Wang said.

“We are fully funded to production at Abujar, which has potential to be one of the largest gold producing mines in Côte d’Ivoire, expected to produce more than 260,000 ounces of gold in the first year and 1.2 million ounces of gold in the first six years.”

The company said it would incorporate the AG Core infill drilling data into an Abujar resource model update, which was due at the end of the March quarter.

Construction work at Abujar was progressing on schedule and first gold was targeted to be poured at the new mine by the end of the 2022 calendar year, Tietto said.

TIE shares were steady at 61 cents at 12:45 pm AEDT.
