TNT Mines (TIN) has received encouraging results from an exploration sampling program completed at its East Canyon Project in Utah, U.S.

The East Canyon Project lies within the Uravan Mineral Belt which is a known source of uranium and vanadium ore in the U.S. for more than 100 years.

The project covers over 4000 acres, or 16 square kilometres, and features a number of historic workings – many of which are still open and seem to be in good condition.

Pleasingly, the assay results confirmed high-grade uranium and vanadium potential at the project.

Initial sampling focused on the northern area of the East Canyon claim holdings where the historic None Such and Bonanza mine workings are located.

Best results from channel sampling at None Such include 0.6 metres at 0.34 per cent uranium oxide and 1.55 per cent vanadium oxide, one metre at 0.22 per cent uranium oxide and 2.29 per cent vanadium oxide, and 1.5 metres at 0.10 per cent uranium oxide and 0.88 per cent vanadium oxide.

The company acquired the East Canyon Project just a few weeks ago and is so far highly encouraged by its potential for uranium and vanadium mineralisation.

Looking ahead, TNT plans to develop a more intensive exploration program once all results from the initial program have been received and interpreted.

Company shares closed 15.4 per cent in the red to trade for 16.5 cents each.
