Torian Resources (TNR) has received high-grade rock chip results from its Mt Monger-Wombola Project in WA.
The Mt Monger-Wombola Project consists of two distinct areas, the Mt Monger South Block and the Wombola Block, which lie 11 kilometres apart.
Mt Monger South
Tenements in the Mt Monger South area have seen limited historical drilling with only a few small and shallow pits completed.
The recent work sampled rock chips from quartz scree (a collection of small loose stones), quartz veining, and quartz stockpiles from the shallow pits.
Anomalous gold values were returned which will aid the geological team to hone in on and target potential sources of gold mineralisation.
The geological team also trialed portable x-ray fluorescent (pXRF) analysis of a portion of the tenements to determine what other elements are presents.
At this stage, only arsenic was identified.
Wombola
Rock chip sampling was undertaken at a few locations to get an indication of the gold grades mined at the historical underground workings.
High-grade gold assays were returned which confirms Torian’s understanding of the potential gold mineralisation.
Grades ranged from 0.26g/t gold to 21.82g/t gold.
The geological team also undertook pXRF analysis at Wombola and identified an arsenic signature.
“We are delighted with the results of our recent ground reconnaissance sampling program, and as such, have made a decision to continue exploring these prospective parts of our Mt Monger Gold Project,” Executive Director Peretz Schapiro said.
“We anticipate to have a drilling campaign up and running during Q1 2021,” he added.
Torian is up 3.45 per cent on the market and shares are trading at 3 cents at 1:26 pm AEDT.
