Fresh results from Traka Resource’s (TKL) drill efforts at the Mt Cattlin project in Western Australia have returned some encouraging gold grades.

The junior explorer is at the tail-end of a drilling programme at the site’s Maori Queen mine within the project, which has been executed to test for other gold lode positions along a shear zone.

Preliminary results from two holes have yielded the best intersections from the main lode of four metres at 7.8 g/t gold including one metre at 15.7 g/t gold and two metres at 6.4 g/t gold including one metre at 9.7 g/t gold.

The mineralised structures lie within a north-east trending shear zone that can be traced for over one kilometre.

Traka says the deepest drill holes on Maori Queen test the mineralised lodes
to about 100 metres vertical below the surface but are expected to continue
to greater depths.

Assays for remaining holes are still pending and expected in the next few weeks.

More broadly, the drill efforts at Maori Queen forms part of Traka’s ongoing objective to build a significant resource base from the prospects at Mt Cattlin.

Traka Resources looks to end today’s session down 10.5 per cent, at 1.7 cents per share at 4:57 pm AEDT.
