Vango Mining (VAN) has intersected a broad zone of high-grade near-surface gold mineralisation at the Skyhawk open-pit target.

Skyhawk is part of Vango’s flagship Marymia Gold Project which lies in the mid-west region of Western Australia.

It is made up of 45 tenements and has a JORC 2012 resource of 1.02 million ounces at three grams of gold per tonne (g/t).

Skyhawk is the first of 11 targets to be drilled as part of Vango’s 2021 drilling program which is targeting open pits not part of the JORC 2012 resource.

Drilling is also being undertaken to enhance the understanding of the mineralised zones and deliver critical mass to increase the mine life.

Best results from Skyhawk include one metre at 12.1g/t gold from 55 metres, six metres at 1.9g/t gold from 21 metres including one metre at 6.4g/t gold; and three metres at 2.5g/t gold from 59 metres including one metre at 6.1g/t gold.

Vango is pleased with these results as they reaffirm and strengthen the open-pit potential of Skyhawk.

Furthermore, these results have warranted a second phase of drilling to test for further extensions of the gold mineralisation.

The first phase of drilling in all 11 open pits has now been completed with results expected to be progressively released as they become available.

Vango was up 9.38 per cent on the market with shares trading at seven cents at 1:27 pm AEST.
