WestStar Industrial’s (WSI) subsidiary Alltype Engineering has been awarded a $6 million contract by Laing O’Rourke.

This contract will see Alltype deliver an Iron Ore Mining Plant — Phase 1 Structural, Mechanical and Piping Package (SMP) for Rio Tinto’s Koodaideri Mine Project.

The Koodaideri Mine Project lies 35 kilometres northwest of the Yandicoogina mine in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia.

This project will initially be developed as a 43 million tonne per annum high-grade, dry processing operation.

“Alltype Engineering undertook a significant shift in direction in 2017, focusing on multidiscipline construction solutions, technology partnerships with OEMs and leveraging off the well-established industry exposure developed over 35 years of operation,” Alltype’s Managing Director Kelvin Andrijich commented.

“This strategy continues to unfold with our established local fabrication capability and by building upon successive projects delivered of increasing scale and complexity with existing and new clients,” he said.

“The support of our new owner WestStar Industrial allows the group to execute larger contracts previously constrained by working capital, as well as start to expand the operational footprint to the east coast of Australia where there is a further market opportunity for this offering,” he added.

Alltype said the contract begins immediately, with delivery and installation dates to occur up until January 2021.

WestStar ended today’s session up 6.25 per cent, with shares trading for 1.7 cents each.
